  • 3 cups chopped heirloom tomatoes (or cherry tomatoes cut into bite-sized pieces or with cherry tomatoes, halved)
  • 2 tablespoons capers, drained
  • 2/3 cup halved or chopped black or kalamata olives
  • 1/2 cup slivered fresh basil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • pasta of your choice
  • grated fresh Parmesan slivers or feta
  • 3 tablespoons minced fresh flat-leafed parsley
  • grilled or browned mild sausage or bratwurst links, cut into bite-sized coins
