Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter and shortening mixed
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 eggs separated
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 1 cup miniature marshmallows
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cream butter mixture and sugar. Beat in 1 whole egg and 2 egg yolks. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Combine with butter/sugar mixture. Spread into a 9x13 pan.
Sprinkle nuts, chocolate pieces, and marshmallows over batter. Beat egg whites until stiff. fold in brown sugar. Spread over top of cake mixture.
Bake for 30-40 minutes. Let cool down a bit; cut into 32 squares. Serve warm or cold.
