Ingredients

  • 4

    cups flour

  • 1

    tsp. salt

  • 1 1/2

    cups + 3 Tbls. unsalted butter (cut into cubes)

  • 3/4

    cup ice water

Directions

In a food processor, combine the flour and salt and pulse briefly to mix. Scatter the butter over the top and pulse until the mixture forms coarse crumbs about the size of peas. Drizzle the ice water over the flour mixture and pulse until the dough starts to come together. Transfer to a work surface; divide into 3 equal portions, and press into a flat disk. Wrap each flat disk into plastic wrap very well. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. OR, can freeze for about 2 weeks. 1 disk makes one 9 inch pie
