Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening (I used one stick of Butter Flavored Crisco)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. cider or white vinegar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F.
Cream together the butter, shortening, sugars, vanilla, salt and vinegar.
Beat in the egg, then the baking soda and flour.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Bake 12-14 minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and transfer to a rack to cool.
