Hot Sponge Cake

Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 lb. melted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. almond extract

Preparation

Step 1

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
Grease and flour two round cake pans.

Beat eggs and sugar until light pale yellow. While beating, melt butter and add 1 cup milk to luke warm melted butter.
Slowly alternate flour and butter/milk ending with flour into eggs/sugar mixture. After mixed, add baking soda and almond extract.

Pour into prepared pans. Bake 30-35 minutes.
