Ingredients
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 12/3 cup (1lb) can pumpkin
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 31/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsps. baking soda
- 2 tsps. salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp allspice
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 2/3 cup water

Step 1
Grease two 9x5x3" loaf pans; dust lightly with flour, tap out any excess. Combine sugar, oil, pumpkin and eggs; beat until light and fluffy. Sift flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves onto wax paper. Add to pumpkin mixture alternately with water; mix until blended. Turn into pans. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until center springs back when lightly pressed with fingertip. Cool loaves in pans for 10 minutes. Turn onto wire rack; cool completely.
