Red, White & Blue Sangria

Let the patriotic celebrations begin with this red, white and blue white wine sangria. Complete with star-shaped apple slices.

Ingredients

• 1 apple, sliced crosswise and stamped with a star cookie cutter
• 1 cup sliced strawberries
• 1 cup blueberries
• 1 (750 ml) bottle of white wine (I used Forest Edge Bluegrass Blend sweet white wine)
• 1/2 cup triple sec
• 1/2 cup fruity vodka (I used cranberry)
• 1/2 cup fruit juice (I used apple juice)
• 2 Tbsp sugar, optional

Preparation

Step 1

Place fruit in a large glass pitcher. Add remaining ingredients and stir until sugar is dissolved (if using). Cover and store in the refrigerator for at least a couple hours, best overnight.
Serve over ice (with a splash of lemon-lime soda or club soda if desired). Garnish with more fruit.
