Ingredients
- 4 sweet onions, sliced
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1-1/2 vcups heavy cream
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 2 teaspoon thyme
- salt and pepper
- 1 9 inch pie crust

Preparation
Step 1
Saute onions in oil and butter until caramelized and golden brown then add thyme and pinch of salt.
Remove from pan and allow to cool.
In a bowl, combine heavy cream, eggs, nutmeg and salt and pepper.
Whisk eggs before you add onions to make the mixture a bit airy.
Add onions and combine. Pour mixture in pie shell and bake in a preheated 350 oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until center doesn't jiggle.
