Ingredients
- 1/2 C milk
- 2 t plus 2 T unsalted butter
- 8 large eggs
- 1 C plus 2 t sugar
- 1 C all purpose flour
- 1 t baking powder
- 1/8 t salt
- 1 t vanilla
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350
In a small saucepan warm the milk and 2 t of butter over medium low heat. With and electric mixer with a wire ship beat the eggs and 1 C of sugar on medium high until mixture is pale yellow, thick and tippled in volume. With mixer on low speed mix in milk mixture. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt and add half at a time to the milk mixture on low speed. Add the vanilla and mix gently grease a 17 X 12 baking pan with the remaining 2 T of butter. Sprinkle evenly with 2 T of sugar. Pour cake batter into pan and spread evenly. bake until cake springs bake about 15 minutes. Cool for 2 minutes, then gently flip it out onto a large sheet of parchment paper and cool completely.
