Ingredients

  • 1 cup Milk
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2-1/2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 2 whole Eggs
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 3-1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
  • Egg And Milk, Mixed Together, For Brushing
  • Softened Butter, For Smearing And Greasing

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat the butter in a saucepan or pot with 1 cup of milk.
2. Let the milk/butter mixture cool until it’s warmer than lukewarm but not overly warm.
3. Add 2-1/2 teaspoons of active dry yeast and sprinkle it over the liquid.
4. Stir it around just a little bit, then let the mixture sit for about ten minutes.
5. Add sugar and eggs into the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment.
6. Beat the egg and sugar together until it’s totally combined.
7. Drizzle in the yeast mixture and give it a light stir.
8. Add in half the flour and all the salt and mix it up until it’s all combined.
9. Add in the rest of the flour, and mix it until it’s just combined.
10. Switch out the paddle for the dough hook attachment.
11. Knead the dough on medium speed for about ten minutes. Note that the dough should be slightly sticky and should stick to your fingers just a little bit…just not overly sticky/messy.
12. Then add the ball of dough, toss it around to coat it in oil.
13. Place in a oil coated bowl, cover and let rise for at least 2 hours.
14. Roll dough out into a rectangle. Stick your loaf pan in the front of the rectangle and make sure it’s not too wide.
15. Mix together sugar and cinnamon…
16. Cover with plastic wrap, and place in warm area.
17. Combine an egg with a splash of milk in a small bowl and whisk it together with a fork.
18. Coat bread with egg mixture and sprinkle with sugar mixture.
19. Roll into loaf and place in pan.
20. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.
