TUNA****Spicy Sesame Tuna Salad
By Unblond1
11/06/17 - I loved this. I had it for Sunday lunch on a couple of round Rye Vita with mixed baby lettuce underneath. The tuna mixture would also be good on top of an olive oil & lemon juice or Asian Vinaigrette dressed salad.
27/06/17 - Update. I made it as a dinner for both of us, with one large can of tuna, and served it over Ryvita rounds (2 each) topped with some slice avocado, a few fried shallots and a shake or two of Gomasio. Dan loved it and said he'd eat it again.
12/09/17 - as a sandwich, on toasted Harvest Bakes with Seeds & Quinoa - best yet, I think. I added some spinach to mine and still used the fried shallots and the Gomasio on both, no avocado.
- 1
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon light mayonnaise
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil (taste to decide)
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
- 1 teaspoon chili-garlic paste or sweet chili sauce (if Dan's eating it too)
- 1 teaspoon toasted black and white sesame seeds
- pinch red pepper flakes (my portion only)
- 1 small can tuna, drained
- 1 or 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- Kosher salt
Preparation
Step 1
Combine the mayonnaise, sesame oil, lemon or lime juice, chili garlic paste, sesame seeds and red pepper flakes in a bowl. Fold in the tuna and green onions and season with salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
Serve with lettuce-lined RyVita or on top of a bowl of lightly-dressed lettuce.
