Ingredients

  • frosting:
  • 1/2 c granulated sugar
  • 1/3 c butter
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 1 c semisweet chocolate pieces
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c chopped pecans
  • 2-3 tbsp. bourbon butter frosting
  • 1 oz semisweet chocolate melted
  • 1 1/2 c sifted powdered sugar
  • 3 TBSP butter
  • 2 tsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

1. Grease an 8x8x2in baking pan; set aside. In a medium saucepan combine granulated sugar, butter, and water. Cook and stir over medium heat just until mixture boils. Remove from heat. Add chocolate pieces, stirring until milted. Add eggs and vanilla, beating with a wooden spoon until just combined.

2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir flour mixture and pecans into chocolate mixture. Spread batter in the prepared pan.

3. Bake in a 350 oven about 20 minutes or until edges are set and begin to bull away from sides of the pan.

4. Using a fork prick the warm brownies several times. Drizzle bourbon even over brownies. Cool in a pan or a wire rack.

5. Spread butter frosting over brownies; drizzle with melted chocolate. Cut into bars. Makes 16-20 brownies.

Butter Frosting:
1. in a small mixing bowl beat 3 TBSP butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Gradually add sifted powdered sugar, beating well. Slowly beat in 2 tsp milk and 14 tsp vanilla. If necessary, beat in enough additional milk to make frosting of spreading consistency
