Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour plus more on the board
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cut into pieces
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup half-n-half
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Mix dry ingredients in large mixing bowl
Add the cold butter in pieces and cut into dry ingredients until pea sized crumbles are formed.

Set in refer

Meanwhile, mix all wet ingredients together and beat to make sure that egg is incorporated.

Take and mix wet with dry and mix until just bought together. At this point the mixture will be very wet.

On a very well floured board scrape out mixture. With a bread scraper, pull the dough to the center incorporating flour as needed until dough is just dry enough to not stick to everything.

cut into rounds and place 1 to 2 inches apart on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.

Place baking sheeting in refer.

Preheat oven to 430 degrees.
Once oven is up to temp, take baking sheet and place in middle of oven. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until biscuits are lightly brown on top and nice and brown on the bottom.

Serve with butter and honey and enjoy.
