Ingredients
- 1 pkg yeast
- 1 pint milk heated and cooled
- 4 egg yolks and 1 whole egg
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 # butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 7 cups flour
- 1 orange or lemon rind, grated

Step 1
Desolve yeast in warm milk. Add 2 cups flour and let stand 1/2 hour in warm place. Beat eggs, sugar,Vanilla and rind until light and fluffy. Add to yeast mixture add 5 cups flour and melted butter.Let rise until doubled. Place on floured board and pat with hand until 1/2 inch thick. Cut with donut cutter. cover and let rise again. Fry in deep fryer .
