Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups King Arthur Unbleached Self-Rising Flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup heavy or whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Before turning on the oven, place a rack in the top third; the biscuits for this shortcake will brown better if they’re nearer the top. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Measure flour in a mixing bowl; stir in sugar. Measure cream and stir in vanilla. Make a well in dry mixture and add liquid mixture. Stir to make stiff dough.
Using a large cookie scoop, place dough on cookie sheet. Brush with cream and sprinkle with turbindo sugar or sparkling sugar.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
