Ingredients

  • Base
  • 3/4 cup butter (I used 1/2 cup margarine and 1/4 cup butter)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut
  • 3/4 cup chopped nuts (I used pecans)
  • Icing
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 1/2 cups icing sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 about 2 tsp milk
  • Glaze
  • 3 squares unsweetened chocolate (3 ounces)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp butter

Preparation

Step 1

Base: Melt first 3 ingredients over low heat in heavy saucepan. Add beaten eggs and stir to cook and thicken. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Stir in crumbs, coconut and nuts. Press firmly into ungreased 9" x 13" pan.

Icing: Cream butter and icing sugar together well. Add vanilla and enough milk to make spreadable. Spread over base.

Glaze: Melt chocolate and butter over low heat, or in microwave. Let cool slightly and spread carefully over icing. Chill and cut into squares.
