old school M&M cookie bars

Ingredients

• 1 c. shortening
• 2 tbsp. butter, melted & cooled
• 3/4 c. granulated sugar
• 3/4 c. brown sugar
• 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 2/3 c flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 c M&M's plus more for the top

Preparation

Step 1

preheat oven to 350. grease a baking sheet. combine shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla with mixer until fluffy. Min in dry ingredients and combined. Add in M&M's and smooth dough into greased baking sheet. push M&M's into the top and bake for 12 minutes, turn pan around and bake for another 12-15 minutes.
