Cornbread (Rich, Sweet Version)

  • 1/2 Cup butter, melted
  • 2/3 Cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 Cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 Cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt



Step 1

Add sugar to melted butter and stir well. Add eggs and beat until blended. Combine buttermilk and baking soda and stir into sugar-egg-butter mixture. Add cornmeal, flour and slat; stir until just blended. Pour into greased 8" square pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
