  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 cups Packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 plus 1 1/3 cups Butter (1 stick plus 2 2/3 sticks), softened
  • 1 cup Pecan halves
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips (6 ounces)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine the flour, 1 cup of the brown sugar and 1/2 cup of the butter in a mixing bowl. Beat at medium speed until crumbly.

2. Press the crumb mixture over the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan. Pierce the prepared layer with a fork. Arrange the pecans over the top.

3. Combine the remaining 1 cup brown sugar and remaining 1 1/3 cups butter in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

4. Drizzle over the prepared layers. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 to 22 minutes or until bubbly.

5. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with the chocolate chips. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes or until soft; swirl over the top.

Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars.
