Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • mixed with enough milk to make 1/2 cup:
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 bananas, mashed
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 cup sour milk (1/2 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice
  • Let stand 5 minutes to thicken)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x4 inch loaf pan.

Combine sugar, butter, bananas, eggs, flour, baking soda, milk, salt and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl; beat well. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake in a preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
