Ingredients
- 1 lg head garlic separated into cloves
- 1/2 C olive oil
- 1 Tbl unsalted butter
- 1 lb pasta, angel hair or thin spaghetti
- pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- salt and fresh ground black pepper

Step 1
Peel and chop garlic.
Heat oil and butter in a skillet over moderate heat.
Add garlic and saute` until fragrant then remove from heat. Let stand 20 minutes.
Cook pasta just until done.
Drain thoroughly then transfer to a warm serving bowl.
Reheat garlic and oil, add pepper flakes (if used). Add sauce to the pasta and toss well.
Season to taste, serve immediately.
