  • FOR THE FRENCH TOAST
  • 1 1/2 c. whole milk
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp. pure vanilla extract
  • kosher salt
  • 8 slices white sandwich bread
  • 1 c. cinnamon-sugar
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • FOR THE GLAZE
  • 2 tbsp. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 oz. powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp. whole milk

Preparation

Step 1

In a shallow bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla and a pinch of salt. Dip bread in egg mixture until each slice is soaked through.
Pour cinnamon-sugar into a shallow bowl and set aside.
Make glaze: In a small liquid measuring cup, whisk together cream cheese, powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
In a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add a couple slices of bread and cook until golden, about 2 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and immediately toss French toast in cinnamon-sugar, then repeat with remaining bread slices.
Drizzle each serving with cream cheese glaze and serve warm.
