Ingredients

  • 2 c flour
  • 1 T sugar
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1 t onion powder
  • 1 t garlic powder
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/4 t baking soda
  • 1/4 c cold butter cubed
  • 2 c shredded cheddar monterey jack cheese divided
  • 1/2 c grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 c buttermilk

Step 1

In large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and baking soda. Cut in butter with pastry blender until coarse crumbs. Stir in 1-1/4c cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese. Stir in buttermilk just until moistened.
Turn onto lightly floured surface; knead 6-8 times. Pat or roll out onto to 1/2" thick. Cut with floured 2-1/2" biscuit cutter. Place 2" apart on greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with remaining cheddar cheese and bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until golden.
