Ingredients

  • Mutha BBQ Sauce
  • 1/4 c vegetable oil
  • 1 c minced onion
  • 1/2 c minced green paper
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded & minced (or more to taste)
  • Pinch each of kosher salt & black pepper
  • 2 T minced garlic
  • 28 oz can tomato sauce
  • 2 c Heinz ketchup
  • 1 c water
  • 3/4 c Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c lemon juice
  • 1/4 c molasses
  • 1/4 c cayenne pepper sauce
  • 1/4 c Spicy brown mustard
  • 3/4 c dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1 T chili powder
  • 2 t coarsely ground black pepper
  • 1/2 t ground allspice
  • 1 T liquid smoke (optional)
  • Cocktail Sauce
  • 2 c Mutha sauce
  • 1 c prepared horseradish
  • 2 T Worcestershire sauce
  • Juice of 1/4 lime
  • Juice of 1/4 lemon
  • 2 t hot sauce or Tabasco sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Pour oil in LG pan & set over med high heat. Toss in onions, green peppers & jalapeños & give them a stir. Season with pinch of salt & pepper & cook until soft & golden. Add garlic & cook for 1in more. Dump in everything else except the liquid smoke if using.

Bring to boil then lower heat so the sauce simmers. Simmer for 10 min. Swirl in liquid smoke & let sauce cool. Pour into container, cover & store in fridge until ready to use.
