Mom's Cannoli Recipe

Ingredients

  • Cannoli Filling
  • –1 lb of drained Ricotta cheese
  • –3/4 cup of powdered sugar
  • –Sprinkle of Cinamon (pinch very little)
  • –Mini Chocolate Chip (as desired)
  • Cannoli Shells
  • –1 cup of flour
  • –1 tbs Sugar
  • –1 tbs Shortening
  • –1/4 cup of water/whisky mixed

Preparation

Step 1

Filling:

1.Add all the ingredients to a bowl and fold it in. DO NOT MIX it or it will get too watery. Keep folding it in so it doesn’t get watery.

Shells:

1.Sift the flour and sugar, then add the shortening and mix it.

2.Add the liquid. Mix it with your hands until it makes a dough consistency.

3.Roll it out and cut 4 inch circles.

4.Wrap each circle around cannoli metal core, put a little beaten egg on the end to seal it.

5.Fry in hot shortening in a wire basket (or I just use a big pot) until light brown. Cool when done.
