Ingredients
- 1 c butter
- 1 c sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 c flour
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 21-24 maraschino cherries (halved)
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, mix well. Stir in flour and almond extract. Chill dough 1-2 hours. Make balls the size of walnuts. Flatten on cookie sheet with flour-coated glass. Press 1/2 cherry onto each cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until edges are light brown. Do not overbake. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
