Ingredients
- 1 strawberry cake mix
- 2 - 8 ounce packages cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup key lime juice
- 1 - 8 ounce container Cool Whip, thawed
- 6 cups sliced strawberries
- 6 whole strawberries, for garnish
- zest of one lime
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 pan with nonstick baking spray.
Make the cake according to the package directions. Cool and cut into 1 inch cubes
Beat the cream cheese and sugar until creamy. Add the lime juice and beat again until smooth and creamy. Fold in the Cool Whip.
Layer 1/2 the cake cubes, 1/2 the cheesecake, and 1/2 the strawberries in a large trifle bowl. Repeat the layers ending with the cheesecake on top. Garnish with whole strawberries and lime zest.
Yield: 1 large trifle
