Ingredients

  • 1 (15.5 oz) pkg of dried Slow Cooker Bacon & Beans
  • 3 -1/2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
  • 5 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 large carrots, sliced
  • 3 stalks of celery, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1-1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Packet of seasoning from Bacon & Beans package
  • 5-6 drops Maggi's Seasoning (optional)
  • 2/3 cup ditalini pasta

Preparation

Step 1

Place dried beans in large bowl, cover with several inches of cool water, soak overnight. Drain & rinse.
Place beans and remaining ingredients in slow cooker except for the pasta; stir well.
Cover and cook on high 2 hours. Reduce heat to low and cook for additional 7-1/2 hrs. The last 30 minutes of cooking stir in the 2/3 cup of pasta.

Serve with cornbread ... DELICIOUS!
