Filled with cream cheese and sweet crab meat, then deep fried to golden deliciousness, these appetizers are perfect to serve at any party or just a Thursday night when you have a craving for hot and fresh crab rangoons. Serve with your favorite store-bought sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) package Kraft Philadelphia Regular Cream Cheese, at room temperature
  • 2 ounces crab meat or 2 sticks imitation crab meat, finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • oil, for deep frying

Step 1

Mix all the cream cheese, crab meat, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Stir to blend well. Place about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese filling in the middle of a wonton wrapper. Dab some water on the outer edges of the wonton wrapper and fold the two ends of the wrapper together. Fold the other two ends to make a tiny parcel. Pinch to seal tight and make sure that there is no leakage.

Heat large pot of oil or deep fryer until oil reaches 350°F. Fry rangoons in batches for about 3 minutes or until they are golden brown. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Serve immediately. Serve with your favorite store-bought sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce.
