Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • ... 2 beaten eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 super mushy ripe bananas
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 cup hot water
  • 3/4 about 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Step 1

Bake 3-4 bananas in skins until black. make sure you flip them, so both sides are black. Then mash bananas (take them out of their skins while hot, it's easier).

Preheat oven to 325 degrees, and lightly grease a loaf pan. Melt the butter, add sugar and cream together. Add beaten eggs, vanilla and mashed bananas. Mix until smooth. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Combine gently. Lastly, add in the hot water and nuts and chips. Mix, then pour batter into one or two loaf pans.

Bake for about an hour. Make sure when you take it out after the hour, when you check for doneness, the toothpick or skewer will still be slightly wet. That's okay...just make sure it's not totally raw. If you wait until the toothpick comes out bone dry, your bread will be dry and not moist.
