Ingredients

  • 2 C. Flour (sifted before measuring)
  • 4 t. Baking Powder
  • 1 t. Salt
  • 4 T. Shortening equals (1/4 C.)
  • 3/4 C. Milk

Preparation

Step 1

1. Sift Flour, Baking Powder, and Salt together. Cut in Shortening with Pastry blender or fork until the mixture has the appearance of course corn meal, working mixture for as short of time as possible. Add Milk, stirring only enough to combine ingredients.

2. Pat or roll out 1/2 inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass.

3. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 450 degrees for 12 to14 minutes. Yields 18 biscuits.
