Ingredients
- 1/2 C flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 C firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 C packaged pitted pruned, thinly sliced
- 1 C walnuts chopped medium fine
- Confectioners sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Stir together the flour, baking powder and salt. Beat eggs slightly. Gradually beat in brown sugar and vanilla until extremely thick and foamy and a pale beige color. Gradually fold in flour, then prunes mixed with the nuts. Turn into an 8x8x2 inch cake pan lined with greased wax paper. Bake in preheated oven 325° until cake tester comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Turn on wire rack. Remove paper and with another rack turn right side up. Cool and slice into bars. Roll in confectioners sugar.
