Ingredients
- 2 2 2 Tbs unsalted butter
- 1 1 1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
- 4 4 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 2 2 Tbs finely chopped fresh ginger
- 1 1 1 cup water or vegetable broth
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 cup honey
- to salt and black pepper to taste
- risp tender but still bright green.
- to lid. If water still remains increase the heat to high and cook until mostly evaporated. Remove from heat and stir in the honey. Season with salt and pepper and top with sesame seeds. Serve warm.
Preparation
Step 1
In a large skillet or Dutch oven melt butter over medium heat. Add onion, garlic and ginger. Cook, stirring often, for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent. Add the beans and stir to coat. Cook, stirring for 4-5 minutes. Add the water to the pan and immediately cover with lid. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer for about 5 minutes until the green beans are crisp tender but still bright green.
Remove lid. If water still remains increase the heat to high and cook until mostly evaporated. Remove from heat and stir in the honey. Season with salt and pepper and top with sesame seeds. Serve warm.
