Ingredients
- 1 lb. green beans (4 cups) trimmed
- 4-oz. bacon,chopped
- 3 Tbs. brown sugar
- 3 Tbs. snipped fresh parsley
- 2 tsp. red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp. finely chopped shallot or onion
Preparation
Step 1
1. Cook green beans in boiling water for 20 to 25 minutes or till crisp tender. Drain off water and set aside.
2. In large skillet, cook bacon till crisp. Drain, reserving 4 tsp. drippings. return bacon and the reserved drippings to skillet.
3. Add brown sugar, parsley, vinegar and shallot. Bring to boiling; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 2 minutes.
4. Add green beans and heat through.
