Suran Pakoras

Ingredients

  • 900 g yam
  • 1 tsp salt
  • t tsp turmeric
  • 1.5 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp carum seeds
  • 25 g gram flour (besan)
  • 15 g ground rice
  • oil for deep frying

Preparation

Step 1

1. Peel the yam and cut into 5mm thick slices. Soak in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain but don't dry.

2. Put the rest of the ingredients into large bowl and mix well. Add the yam slices and mix until they are fully coated.

4. Fry over medium high heat 3-4 minutes or until crsip and golden brown.
