Chocolate Picnic Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Step 1

In a microwave, melt chocolate; stir until smooth. Cool. In a large bowl, beat the egg, sugar, water and oil until well blended. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to egg mixture until blended. Stir in melted chocolate.

Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake at 350° for 32-38 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
