- 1 lb fresh cranberries
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- grated zest and juice of 1 orange
1. In a medium saucepan, combine all of the ingredients and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Simmer to incorporate the flavors and cook the cranberries 8-10 minutes.
2. Strain out the cranberries and transfer them to a bowl. Pour the liquid back into the saucepan and simmer to reduce it by half so it's more syrupy, about 15 minutes. Stir everything together and allow to cool before serving. Remove the cinnamon stick.
