Ingredients
- German Chocolate Cookies
- 1 box German chocolate cake mix (or regular chocolate cake mix)
- 1/3 c. Vegetable or canola oil
- 2 eggs
- Caramel-Coconut Frosting
- 1 jar caramel sauce (10-12 ounces)
- 2/3 c. coconut flakes
- 2/3 c. chopped pecans
- flaky sea salt (optional)

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
For the chocolate cookies:
Pour the cake mix, oil and eggs into a large mixing bowl, stirring until combined.
Spoon 1-inch balls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes.
Set aside to cool for at least 10-15 minutes before adding the frosting topping.
For the caramel-coconut frosting:
Combine caramel sauce, coconut flakes and pecans in a small bowl.
Top each cookie with a spoonful of frosting.
Lightly sprinkle the caramel with salt, if you'd like a salted-caramel flavor (optional).
