Ingredients

  • 4 sticks butter room temp
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 4 cups flour
  • 8 eggs room temp
  • 8 oz cream cheese room temp
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • caramel sauce

Preparation

Step 1

In mixer Cream butter, cream cheese and sugar until smooth
add eggs one at a time
then add flour on cup at a time
add 2 teaspoon vanilla
grease and flour your tube pan
pour batter in
sprinkle pecans and brown sugar on top (a cup of each)
lightly press into the batter
bake on 300* for 1 hour 15 minutes
(you may want to tent the top with foul if it is browning to fast or nuts are scorching)
increase heat to 325* and bake another 30 minutes
test for doneness,cook longer if needed
remove from oven and allow to cool a few minutes before removing from pan
when you invert onto a plate you may lose a few nuts
then turn over to another plate so pecans are on top
drizzle with a jar of caramel
