Ingredients
- Cake:
- 2 cups all-purpose four
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 stick melted butter (1/4 cup)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 tsp. orange zest (from about 1/2 of normal sized orange)
- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- Topping:
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter - room temperature
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup walnuts
Preparation
Step 1
350 for 45 minutes
Mix dry cake ingredients; add wet ingredients by hand, using a fork - do not over stir! It will make cake tough. Pour half of batter into an 8 inch cake pan. Add cranberries. Add second half of batter over the cranberries. Add the topping. Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
Cut into small squares to serve.
