Ingredients

  • Smoked sausage cut up
  • 1 (2 lb.) jar sauerkraut
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seeds
  • 1/2 tsp. dried parsley
  • 3 Tbsp. packed brown sugar
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 lb. bag Kluski noodles

Preparation

Step 1

Rinse sauerkraut under cold water and drain well. Melt butter in Dutch oven. Brown onion lightly. Add sauerkraut, caraway seeds, parsley, brown sugar, and pepper to taste. Cook over
low heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Meanwhile, boil noodles according to package directions. Drain and add to sauerkraut mixture. Mix well. Spoon into ovenproof casserole, cover and bake in a
preheated 350 degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
