Winter Wine*

Ingredients

  • 3 cups wine (Zinfadel,Cabernet, or Shiraz)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. whole allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 3 3-inch cinnamon stickes
  • 1/2 cup brandy

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients and bring to a simmer. Remove from the heat and let steep for 30 minutes. Strain and reheat until hot but not boiling. Stir in 1/2 cup brandy and transfer to an insulated carafe. Serve hot.
