Ingredients

    tsp veg oil

    / tsp minced ginger

    tbsp chopped garlic

  • 1

    / cup soy sauce

  • 1

    / cup water

  • ¾

    cup dark brown sugar

  • 1

    cup veg oil

  • 1

    lb flank steak

  • ¼

    c corn starch

  • 2

    lg green onions sliced 4 inch pieces

Directions

sauce: heat 2 tsp veg oil in medium sauce pan over medium/low heat. Add ginger and garlic, then quickly add the soy sauce and water, then dissolve brown sugar in the sauce. Raise the temp to medium and heat/boil for 2-3 min until sauce thickens. remove from heat cut the flank steak into 1/4 bite size pieces. Dip the pieces into the corn starch and let set for 10 mins. heat 1 cup of oil in wok over medium heat until it is hot but not smoking. Add beef and saute for 2 min. remove meat with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Remove the oil from the wok and put meat back in wok for 1 min. Add sauce and cook for 1 min, add green onions and cook for 1 min. Remove beef and onions to serving plate. Leave remaining sauce in wok.
