Apple Pie Dip and Cinnamon-Sugar Tortilla Chips

Ingredients

  • FOR DIP:
  • 2 cups peeled, cored, and diced appples
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon/calamansi juice
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 1 tsp water
  • For CHIPS:
  • 5 (6 inch) wheat tortillas
  • 2 tbls butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tbls sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Can cook on stove-top OR microwave.
Combine all dip ingredients in a small pan/microwaveable bowl EXCEPT the cornstarch/water mixture.
Heat for a few minutes until it's boiling and has extracted juice from the apple.
Add cornstarch/water mixture to the "sauce"
Put back in microwave/stove top until boiling and sauce has thickened.
Set aside. Can serve warmed or chilled.
FOR CHIPS:
Preheat oven at 210 degrees C.
Cut tortillas into desired sized wedges.
Put in slightly greased baking pan.
Brush with butter.
Bake about 5-8 minutes, until golden brown.
Let cool before serving.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
