Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups crisco
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tsp crushed anise seeds
  • 5 cups flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder

Preparation

Step 1

Whip the first three ingredients together till they are fluffy. Add the flavorings. Mix the dry ingredients together and add them. You may need to add a little milk, or brandy, to make it soft enough to roll.
Roll out and cut with a cutter. Alternately roll into balls , sugar, and press with a press.
Bake @350* for 12-15 minutes
