Ingredients

  • Olive oil
  • 8 slices French or Italian bread,1/2 inch thick
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 8 slices goat cheese, 1/4 inch thick
  • t tablespoon fresh thyme leaves

Preparation

Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Brush both sides of the bread slices with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place the bread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 4 minutes, turning once, until lightly browned.
3. Top each crouton with a slice of goat cheese and sprinkle with thyme, salt, and paper. Set aside.

Makes 8 croutons
