Ingredients
- 5 pounds yellow onions, quartered
- Flour
- 1-1/2 cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 1-3/4 tablespoon salt
- 1-1/2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon melted crisco
Preparation
Step 1
Peel onions and cut into wedges top to bottom. Separate layers and set aside.
put flour, egg, salt and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer. Gradually add milk and water mixing well. Add shortening to batter.
Shake onion wedges in flour. Next dip wedges in batter and fry until golden brown.
