Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar (keep separate)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2.75 cups flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400.

Mix 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon & set aside.

Beat 1 1/2 cup sugar, shortening, butter, and eggs in a large mixing bowl. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda & salt.

Shape in to 1 1/4" balls and roll in cinnamon mixture. Place 2" apart on un-greased cookie sheet. Bake approximately 8 1/2 minutes on the center rack.
