Stuffed cabbage Rolls

  • 1 lg head cabbage, 1 lb ground meat
  • 1 cup raw rice, salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 can 280z tomatoes
  • (chopped, reserve juice)
  • 1 chopped onion, 2 raw chiken wings,2 tbsp. ketchup
  • 1/2 cup br. sugar, juice of 2 lemons
  • 1 bay leaf, crumbled
  • 1 8oz can tomato sauce



Step 1

Soak cabbage in hot water until pliable. Peel off leaves and place in boiling water for 5 mins. Mix well meat,rice,salt,pepper,chili powder, tomatoes and onion. Place 1 tbsp. mixture on each cabbage leaf. Wrap and secure with a toothpick. Place chicken wings on bottom of dutch oven and arrange cabbage rolls on top Layer if necessary; sprinkle with salt Add enough water to ketchup and reserved tomato juice to make 2 cups of liqiid. Pour over cabbage rolls. Sprinkle brown sugar, lemon juice and bay leaves over then pour on tomato juice. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for one hour and 15mins.
