Ingredients

- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups steel cut oats
- 2 cups milk
- 2 whole bananas ripe and mashed
- 2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Preparation
Step 1
Colder weather makes me want to eat warm food for breakfast. Something about waking up and putting your bare foot on that cold floor and walking into the kitchen and starting the Keurig for that first cup of coffee and fixing a bowl of hot breakfast food from the crock-pot.
Mix all the ingredients in the crock-pot, turn it on and wait for the oatmeal to be done.
I topped mine with some chopped nuts and a few slices of fresh bananas. Some fresh coconut, a few chocolate chips or even some added fresh blueberries would make a great added topping too!
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a 4 quart or larger crock-pot.
Stir well to combine.
Cover and cook on LOW for 6 - 8 hours.
Serve and enjoy!
